Types of threaded fasteners :

(1) bolt

The bolt consists of bolt head and bolt bar.The head shape is most commonly used in hexagonal shape, with A grade A and B, with full thread and partial thread and thick rod.The size of the bolt specification shall be nominal diameter d and bolt length l. After selecting one bolt, the other parts can be found according to the relevant national standard .

Bolts are defined as headed fasteners having external threads that meet an exacting, uniform bolt thread specification such that they can accept a non-tapered nut.

(2) screw

The screw can be divided into two kinds: connecting screw and fastening screw.The former is used for connecting, according to the head shape, there are slotted cylindrical head screws, slotted head screws, slotted head screws, etc.The latter is mainly used to prevent the relative motion between the two matching parts. There is a slotted flat end of the screw, the taper end of the slotted screw, the inner hexagon flat end screw and so on.The size of screw specification is determined as screw diameter d and l, and other parts can be found according to relevant standards.

Screws are defined as headed, externally-threaded fasteners that do not meet the above definition of bolts. Screws always cut their own internal threads when initially installed, as there is generally no tool meeting the arbitrary specification of their threads to tap out the internal threads beforehand.  Also, they are generally tapered to a sharp point.

(3) nuts

The nut is used in conjunction with bolt or stud.The form of nut has hexagon, circle, square etc., with hexagon head nut is applied most commonly.The circular nut is often used for axial fixation of the shaft parts.Hexagonal nut has Ⅰ, Ⅱ and type A, B, C, and the thickness and thickness.Determine the size of the nut size as the thread nominal diameter D. After selecting one nut, the other parts can be measured according to the relevant standards.

(4) washer

The washer is installed between the nut and the connecting piece. The purpose of the washer is to increase the contact area between the nut and the connecting piece, to protect the surface of the connecting piece from the abrasion when tightening the nut.In addition to the flat washer, there are spring washer and stop washer, etc., which can prevent the nut loosening caused by vibration.

Determine the size of the gasket specifications for the bolt diameter d, and after selecting the washer, the other parts can be measured according to the relevant standards.
