Can tolerance of extra long flat head machine screws be marked at will?

Most of us know the saying “There are no two identical leaves in the world”. The same is true for extra long flat head machine screws. So generally in the drawing, the screw manufacturer will note on the drawing how much is the tolerance of each part, so the tolerance can be marked at will?

The tolerance of extra long flat head machine screws is not allowed to be marked at will. Each customer has different requirements for the precision of accessories. Some requirements are a little loose, some are very strict, and these are based on their products. Therefore, the tolerance of screws must be confirmed to the customer whether it is ok. If so, we can produce. If not, then the tolerance needs to be adjusted according to the customer’s requirements.

And sometimes, the tolerance of extra-long flat head machine screws will also concern the cost of screws. For example, they are all M4*250KM screws with the same size, material, and surface treatment. However, some customers have a tolerance requirement of ±0.1mm for screws, while others have less stringent requirements.

If the tolerance requirement of extra long flat head machine screws is ±0.1mm, it means that this screw needs to be taken to CNC to control the tolerance of the screw after the head is finished. In this way, a working procedure will be added and the cost of the screw will also increase. So the tolerance of screws cannot be treated arbitrarily.
