Do I need to open the die for 6 inch long machine screws?
When customers order a newly developed screw, they will be very concerned about the cost of the mold for the screw. For example, 6 inch long machine screws, if this screw is to be produced, do we need to open the mold?
Whether the 6 inch long machine screws need to be molded also depends on the production method. If the screw is cold heading production, the mold is needed to produce the screw. So cold heading production depends on whether the screw manufacturer has produced similar screws, if the screw manufacturer has produced similar screws, then basically do not need to open the mold.
But if it is produced by CNC, then 6 inch long machine screws will not involve the cost of the mold. Because CNC production is directly through the material car into the shape we need, so there is no need for a mold.
Therefore, if you want to determine whether the 6 inch long machine screws need to be molded, you need to send the drawing of the screw to the screw manufacturer. They will figure out whether the screw needs to be molded through the drawing, and they will also tell you the cost of the mold. Or do you have a similar mold? What is the size of a similar mold? I will ask you if you can accept it.
