How to make brass screws countersunk to save costs?
Last week, Shi Shi Tong, a manufacturer of countersunk head screws, received an inquiry. Mark said that he wanted to customize a brass screws countersunk. The tail of the screw on the drawing also has a chamfer. Mark said that his quantity is not very large, and he only needs about 2K in the early stage. But there are more than 20 lengths he requested, the shortest is 5mm, and the longest is 80mm.
After looking at Mark’s drawings, Panny asked Mark if the tail must be chamfered. If the chamfering of the tail is required, then a die plate needs to be ordered for each length, and there will be a mold cost for a die plate.
Mark is not sure whether he needs to chamfer, because he has never bought screws before, so he wants to know what chamfering looks like. After seeing the pictures of chamfering and non-chamfering, Mark asked how much the mold cost would be if chamfering was required.
If the tail of each brass screws countersunk needs to be chamfered, the total mold cost will be approximately US$1,500. If there is no need to chamfer, you can save $1,500. Mark asked their engineers and later confirmed that chamfering was not necessary.
