How to distinguish flat head and countersunk head in long thin screw?
Sometimes, the customer will ask the Shi Shi Tong screw manufacturer whether we can make flat head long thin screw. For such a question, the Shi Shi Tong screw manufacturer will ask the customer whether the flat head is in the shape of a flat head or a real flat head. Some customers may wonder, isn’t the flat head the same shape as the flat head? It’s different. So how do you tell the difference?
The countersunk head, although also called a flat head, has a funnel-shaped head and is referred to in technical terms as the K head. If the customer says custom countersunk head screws are needed, then the Shi Shi Tong screw manufacturer will no longer ask the customer about the head type.
However, if the customer says the head is flat, we need to confirm with the customer about the weight of the headers. If it is K heads, we will calculate the unit price according to the single weight of K heads. However, if it is only flat head, also called C head, we will calculate the unit price according to the single weight of C head. The head shape is different, their single weight is different, the final calculated long thin screw unit price is also different.
Even if the long thin screw of C-head is mentioned, we still need to confirm with the customer that the C-head is naturally formed on both sides of the head with an arc, or it looks flat on both sides of the head, that is, it is similar to the appearance of the cup head, but much shorter. If the two sides of the head are flat, we need a sleeve to control the deformation of the head in production. If it is naturally formed and there are arcs on both sides of the head, then there is no need for a sleeve mold. So, even though they’re both C-heads, there are two shapes of C-heads.
