The UNC screw manufacturer says the difference between Metric screw and UNC screw
UNC screw manufacturer Shi Shi Tong often received customer inquiries for UNC screws, the most asked question is what is the difference between UNC and metric threads, whether the UNC metric can be universal.
First of all, we know that the buckle rail is divided into two types, one is UNC and the other is metric. With screw and buckle rail relative ratio, which can match belong to which thread. Index of metric threads : 0.4, 0.45, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.75, 0.8, 1.0, 1.25 , 1.5, 1.75, 2.0 and so on, while the indexing numbers of UNC threads are expressed as :11, 14, 19, 24, 28 and so on. What do these numbers mean? Let’s follow the UNC screw manufacturer Shi Shi Tong to learn.
The number of metric screws represents the thread distance, that is, the pitch we often say, for example M2*0.4*8mm, M2 refers to the outer diameter of the thread , 0.4 is the pitch, and 8 is the length. And the number of UNC screws means the number of teeth per inch, e.g .#8-32*3/16″, #8 refers to the outer diameter of the screw, which is about 3.991-4.142 mm, 32 means With 32 teeth in an inch, the distance is about 0.79 mm and the length is 3/16″, about 4.76 mm. Will you convert the UNC screw size to metric screw size? If you are not clear, welcome to contact the UNC screw manufacturer Shi Shi Tong, we will have someone to solve the problem for you.
